Aso Iizuka Hospital
The International Training Programme was founded in 1988. We provide English Language and cross-cultural training for the medical professionals at Aso Iizuka Hospital and associated Aso Group companies. We also specialize in final editing for our Japanese doctors who frequently submit articles to leading foreign medical journals.
Many of our students work and study abroad, sharing their expertise and absorbing the latest techniques and medical knowledge for use back in Japan. In addition, our experts in modern and traditional medicine often present scientific papers at various international conferences and give lectures at foreign institutions. Our goal is to provide training that enables them to use English competently and confidently.
Although Aso Iizuka Hospital is a regional hospital in a rural area, it has established an international reputation. Of particular note are the departments of Kampo (traditional Oriental) medicine and the Cardiovascular Centre. A new Emergency Wing reflects the concern of the Hospital to move with the times and offer state-of-the-art service to its patients. The E.R. department offers an excellent opportunity for the study (and practice) of primary care to medical students throughout Japan. Aso Iizuka Hospital is a teaching hospital, and places on the Residency programme are much sought after.
Aso Iizuka Hospital is also affiliated with Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C. We entertain many visitors from abroad, mainly from Asian countries, with English as the common language. Working together with the doctors, nurses and staff at the hospital and associated countries, the ITP helps foster these international ties between Japan and the rest of the world.
